In late October last year, I enjoyed an afternoon checking out some local Ohio back roads and snapped this picture of one of my favorite roadside wildflowers, chicory. I always love its cheery blue face along country roads!  You may know that the roots of chicory plants grow up to five feet long and two inches thick, and they have historically been dried, roasted, and ground for use as a coffee. This sweet blue flower makes a great shot for a note card to send to a friend and bring them a smile.
